High Commissioner Prasanna Gamage recently hosted a delegation comprising 14 secondary school students and three teachers from Paraparaumu College New Zealand, ahead of their upcoming 14-day leadership training programme in Sri Lanka, commencing on 3 December 2026.
During their stay, the students will participate in a range of leadership challenges while exploring several destinations across the island, including Negombo, Galle, Ella, Kandy and Wasgamuwa.
As none of the students had previously visited Sri Lanka, High Commissioner Gamage provided an informative briefing on the country's history, socio-economic landscape, culture, cuisine and geography. The briefing was followed by an engaging question-and-answer session, during which the students had the opportunity to learn more about Sri Lanka and its diverse heritage.
The visit concluded with a traditional Sri Lankan tea reception hosted by the High Commissioner, offering the delegation a warm introduction to the country's renowned hospitality.
